2014 Speaker Spotlight: David B. Granet, MD
David Granet, M.D., FACS, FAAP, FAAO serves as the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Eye Alignment Disorders at the University of California, San Diego. He will be speaking at the NOAO Symposium on the topics of strabismus and refractive surgeries. His clinical interests also include state-of-the-art adjustable suture strabismus surgery, childhood eye misalignments and disorders, nystagmus, and the role of vision in learning disorders.
One of Dr. Granet’s specialties is the topic of vision screening for children, and the possibility of mistaking a possible eye health issue with a learning disorder. Our members and guest attendees will be receiving a world class lecture on “Reading and Learning: Do the Eyes Have It?” from Dr. Granet during our Pediatrics Session on Friday, March 21 at 4:15pm. Dr. Granet is also the co-founder of The World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, which is an umbrella organization whose sole goal is to improve the outcomes for children with eye disorders including strabismus throughout the world via:
(1) the international exchange of ideas
(2) collaborative research
(3) policy implementation at both regional and global levels
